The chart is a three-by-three grid of compass sectors with a centre. Every layer of the system — heaven stems, earth stems, eight doors, nine stars, eight deities — is distributed across those palaces for the hour in question.
Kai, Xiu, Sheng, Shang, Du, Jing, Si, Jing. The doors describe the character of an approach: open, resting, generating, wounding, blocking, alarming, dead, frightened. Where the useful door falls tells you the direction to take the action from.
Unlike Bazi, Qimen is asked, not born. You bring a specific question with a subject and a deadline, and the chart is cast for the moment of asking or for the hour you intend to act.
A working substitute for a full chart. Enter the day you intend to act and your day master element. The tool ranks the twelve double-hours of that day by how their element stands to yours, and gives each hour its compass direction.
Take contact, calls and negotiations in a supporting or companion hour, facing the direction given. Use pressure hours for preparation rather than approach. Wealth hours suit asking and collecting; output hours suit presenting and producing.
This is a timing aid, not a Qimen chart. A real chart requires the solar term, the yuan, the correct ju number and the placement of doors, stars and deities — cast by hand or in a consultation.
